Wellbeing Waterloo Region statement on Kamloops Residential School burial site

Wellbeing Waterloo Region is heartbroken to hear the news from British Columbia – where the buried remains of 215 children were found at the Kamloops Residential School. 

Residential schools are a tragic part of Canada’s history. To learn more about the impact of Residential Schools, you can read the Calls to Action identified by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. We recognize that this news deeply impacts community wellbeing and we are thinking of those in this community and across Canada who are mourning at this sad time.
